Here are some hints on how to select the right ice
product in the correct amount:
- For a party with a full bar plus bottles and/or cans that need
chilling, we suggest approximately 2 to 3 lbs. of ice per
person.
- For a full bar only, 2 lbs. per person is more likely.
- Please keep in mind that the amount of ice required will vary
based upon the season (summer vs. winter) as well.
- To cool a keg in a barrel, you will need approximately 50 to
100 lbs. of ice (either block or cubes).
- The choice of block vs. cubes to cool a keg is a personal
preference decision: the
block will last longer, but the cubes should keep the keg colder
since more surface area is in contact with the ice.
